Throughout the history of Nagoya, Japan, the city has evolved into something wonderful over the past years...
Japan’s leading car manufacturing company is Toyota and its headquarters and production plants are placed in the region around Nagoya. A production plant or a manufacturing plant is an industrial site where workers manufacture goods or operate machines creating/processing one product into another. The Toyota headquarters are located in the city of Toyota, which is one hour east of central Nagoya. Alongside Toyota’s headquarters is the Kaikan Museum where plant tours are held as well as Toyota’s new models and technologies. Another great choice of viewing Toyota’s technology is at the Toyota Techno Museum which is located in central Nagoya. This museum reviews Toyota’s beginning as a manufacturer and also features many of Toyota’s technologies such as how the Toyota is made. Another museum that presents Toyota’s history is the Toyota Automobile Museum (click here to learn more) which exhibits Japanese, European, and American automobiles from the 1800’s and 1960’s.

(To learn more about industries set in Japan click here) As Nagoya is the industrial center of Japan and is one of the wealthiest cities in Japan, it does have very interesting and amazing architecture. One example of amazing architecture is Oasis 21. Oasis 21 is an environmental-friendly site, with using what’s around them and not placing any harm on Earth, it certainly saves the greens in the area. Oasis 21 has three levels. In the first level, there is a galaxy platform and plenty of shops. The galaxy platform has the perks of being used for multiple reasons. Many events and activities are held on the galaxy platform. In addition to that the platform uses natural light which saves a great amount of energy. The second floor is the bus terminal. The bus terminal saves a great amount of energy as well by once again, using natural light. The terminal is a transportation center with access to the Sakae Subway Station and the Meitetsu Line’s Sakae-machi Station. The third floor is the “Field of Green”. This area is a place in the middle of the city and is available for relaxing, picnics, and many activities. The “Field of Green” uses rainwater as their source of watering their grass and plants which is once again an environmental-friendly factor. Lastly is the fourth floor. The fourth floor is the spaceship aqua. The spaceship aqua which is a glass roof that amazingly floats on air! To make it even more interesting, on top of the glass roof a thin layer of water flows to capture the sun’s light to make beautiful patterns below. The water is also an environmental-friendly factor because well water is used! By taking a glimpse at Oasis 21, you get to take a look at the architecture of Nagoya and Japan itself. |
